Children are welcome in all aspects of our worship program, and are encouraged to participate as they are able. A professionally-staffed nursery is provided for those children who are not comfortable participating in the entire service. Got questions about Christian Education? Christ Church Newton Offers Christian Education for All Ages
Sunday School
Preschool through Sixth Grade
Christian Education is offered from September - June at 9:00 a.m. for children in preschool through high school. Students are divided into age-appropriate groups for instruction. Adults are invited to meet at 9:00 a.m. for a separate program.
Children in grades pre-school through sixth grade follow the "Celebrate Wonder" curriculum which focuses on stories from the Bible. All children are invited to participate in the annual Christmas pageant.
Adult Bible Study
Adults are invited to discuss the day's Gospel with the Rector on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. Bible Study for adults is also held on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. from September - June, in the Church parlor. Summer Bible Study is held in the evenings; call the church office at 973-383-2245 for the schedule.
Youth Group
Journey
The Christ Church Youth Group - "Journey" - meets on Sunday mornings, September - May, for discussion of the Bible, current events, and other topics of interest. The group visits regularly with the senior residents at nearby Liberty Towers.
Teens participate in numerous outreach activities throughout the year, culminating in semi-annual Youth Group trips to Panama following the Rite of Confirmation. Additional fun activities, like snow tubing and hiking, are held regularly.
